Why Boxing Basics Still Win Fights

Most beginner boxers spend a lot of time searching for advanced techniques.
Pull counters. Check hooks. Fancy footwork drills. Complex combinations.
Yet one of the biggest lessons I've learned after more than 20 years involved in boxing is that the best fighters in the world usually have the best fundamentals.
The jab.
Distance control.
Balance.
Defence.
Patience.
Discipline.
In my latest reaction video, I break down one of my favourite world title fights, Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor, and explain why boxing basics continue to win fights at the highest level.
As the fight develops, you can clearly see the difference between a fighter trying to force spectacular moments and a fighter sticking to simple, effective fundamentals.
This isn't amateur club boxing.
This is elite middleweight world championship boxing.
If you're a boxer, coach or boxing fan, this fight is a fantastic reminder that simple doesn't mean easy, and basic doesn't mean ineffective.
